AIRA Immunization Information Systems Codebook: Guide to Code Sets and Data Definitions for Registry Data Sharing Using HL7
Developed by the AIRA Data Definitions Workgroup, this Excel spreadsheet illustrates and documents the collected data items used in the IIS community. Data elements are defined; standard encoding for each value is specified; and examples of usage are given. This document is intended to be used in conjunction with the "Implementation Guide for Immunization Data Transactions Using V2.3.1 of the HL7 Standard Protocol" (see above).

2005 Special Edition of SnapShots: Healthy People 2010 Countdown / IIS Meeting the Challenge
The IIS community is gearing up for a final push toward meeting the Healthy People 2010 goal of increasing to 95% the percent of children aged 0-6 years with two or more vaccinations recorded in a registry. Over the past two years AIRA has conducted a series of surveys and assessments to solicit feedback and information from IIS stakeholders.

Participating in IIS: Turning Barriers into Opportunities Survey and Best Practice Report
The AIRA Provider Participation Committee conducted a survey to identify the most commonly encountered barriers to private providers' participation in their state or local IIS and which IIS had successfully overcome them. This 48-page report, Participating in IIS: Turning Barriers into Opportunities (.pdf), documents the results of the survey and the best practices gathered. It has been called a "treasure trove" of valuable information. |
